Job description

We are seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor for a long-term civils water project, based in Bournemouth. This is an office-based role, working within an established commercial team to support delivery of key water infrastructure schemes under a framework agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee commercial management of civils water works packages.
  • Prepare and manage valuations, variations, and compensation events.
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow across multiple projects.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and payment processes.
  • Provide accurate commercial reporting to senior management and framework client.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements and company procedures.
  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure successful delivery.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civils and water projects (essential).
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Excellent commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to commit to an office-based role in Bournemouth.
  • Previous framework experience advantageous.
