The Opportunity

On behalf of our client, a well-established retail fit out contractor based in West Yorkshire, we are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team on a permanent basis.

The business delivers fast‑paced retail fit out and refurbishment projects nationwide for a range of well‑known brands. With a strong order book and repeat clients, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and reputable contractor operating in a dynamic sector.

The Role

Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of retail fit out projects, typically ranging from short‑duration refurbishments to larger full‑store fit outs. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered commercially and contractually successfully.

This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with experience in retail, fit out, interiors, or refurbishment, or a QS from a construction background looking to move into the retail fit out sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of retail fit out projects
• Cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Preparation of valuations and applications for payment
• Subcontractor procurement, management, and payments
• Managing variations and change control
• Assisting with final accounts
• Supporting project managers with commercial and contractual matters
• Liaising with clients and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle

Candidate Requirements

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit out, or refurbishment
• Retail fit out or interiors experience advantageous but not essential
• Strong commercial awareness and cost control skills
• Ability to manage multiple fast‑track projects
• Good contractual knowledge
• Degree‑qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence
