Quantity Surveyor
Location: Cheshire

Business Area: Highways & Infrastructure

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Commercial Team working on long-term highways and infrastructure schemes across Cheshire East. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working in a collaborative environment alongside Design and Road Safety teams, managing projects from early feasibility through to final account.

The Role

You’ll take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of design-and-build highways schemes delivered under NEC3 Term Service Contracts (Options A, C and E). The role offers real variety and autonomy, with exposure across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, forecasts and financial reports
• Commercial management of projects from feasibility to final account
• Contract administration in line with NEC3/NEC4 requirements
• Managing change control, compensation events and risk
• Preparing tender documentation and overseeing subcontract procurement
• Valuing works, managing subcontractor payments and agreeing final accounts
• Providing commercial advice on claims, variations and dispute resolution
• Working closely with internal teams, clients and supply chain partners to ensure successful delivery

About You

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Proven experience working under NEC3/NEC4 or similar forms of contract
• Strong analytical, negotiation and cost management skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
• A full UK driving licence
