7formation is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join the team, based in Corby, Northamptonshire.

The Quantity Surveyor role:

As an ambitious and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of construction / fit-out projects by overseeing the financial aspects from inception to completion, working upstream with our clients and downstream with the Supply Chain. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the costs associated with construction projects, ensuring they remain within budget while meeting quality and regulatory standards.

Main responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor include:

  • Being responsible for tender preparation, submission, and project completion in compliance with all HSQE procedures.
  • Managing the Monthly CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) process.
  • Providing commercial expertise to contracts, including the production and submission of valuations, claims, and budget monitoring.
  • Supporting the authorization and submission of project variations.
  • Authorizing the placement of contracts, subcontracts, and material and plant orders.
  • Maximizing cash flow through control, measurement, and valuation of work, invoicing customers, and payment of suppliers.
  • Ensuring projects proceed according to the Client's specifications and satisfaction.
  • Valuing work executed by sub-contractors and certifying interim and final payments.

Our Quantity Surveyor will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a background in various sectors; fit-out experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying desirable, or significant experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • High level of Microsoft Office knowledge; experience with COINS package is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
