Role: Quality Technician

Location: Knutsford

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000

Start Date: ASAP

A global manufacturer based in Knutsford is seeking a meticulous Quality Technician to strengthen its Quality and Engineering teams. You’ll play a key role in managing material certifications and collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to maintain complete compliance with company and customer expectations.

Responsibilities for Quality Technician
  • Resolve material certification non-conformances with suppliers, stockists, test houses and mills.
  • Interface with Engineering and Quality teams on certification queries and data validation.
  • Review and approve urgent supplier certificate packs for standards compliance.
  • Advise suppliers on certification requirements and deliver targeted training as required.
  • Perform witness testing at accredited test houses.
  • Maintain quality standards across business processes and identify improvement actions.
  • Execute internal audits and support 2nd/3rd party audit activities.
  • Compile monthly QA metrics, reports and KPIs.
  • Provide QA assessment for Change Management requests.
  • Maintain records of supplier NCRs, corrective actions and customer returns.
  • Support customer return investigations using 8D and related problem-solving tools.
  • Assist Goods Receiving and Final Inspection with incoming and final quality issues.
  • Contribute to supplier performance reviews, audits and corrective-action closure.
  • Monitor quality performance of new or re-sourced components.
  • Maintain controlled quality procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Investigate product/process failures and implement corrective actions (8D, 5Y).
