Overview

Job summary: Quality Manager within SACT and Outpatient Services at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves developing, implementing and managing a quality management program, and monitoring safety, risk and governance in line with trust policy and the quality surveillance programme.

Main duties

You will work with the SACT and Outpatient Service management team to monitor and coordinate incidents, risk and data management systems for protocols, complaints and executive reviews. You will audit the service and contribute to improving patient experience. You will liaise with patients, carers and staff both internally and externally, producing written and analytical reports and managing your own workload in a self-directed but team-focused manner.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support the Department in the administration, monitoring and implementation of the Quality Management agenda.
  • Oversee quality and compliance activities to meet minimum regulatory requirements (e.g., CQC and Quality Surveillance Programme).
  • Identify and establish quality objectives and indicators with realistic timescales.
  • Plan, organise and execute an effective audits schedule for the department, with support for group-aligned departments as needed.
  • Prepare, administer, disseminate and regularly review the quality agenda.
  • Retain, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management Service.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Relevant technical or professional qualification
  • Essential: Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience/training
  • Essential: Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable: ECDL or equivalent experience; healthcare management qualification or training.

Experience

  • Essential: Demonstrable success in a complex organisation including change management, protocol and policy development/implementation, risk management, training and education.
  • Desirable: Experience in improvement projects, understanding of wider health economy, NHS change management achievements.

Skills

  • Excellent organisational skills, problem solving and negotiation; leadership potential.
