Job summary

A leading aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Skilled Inspector to ensure that all components meet compliance and quality standards. This role involves inspecting complex aerospace parts using precision tools and CMMs, running validations for new products, and documenting inspections per AS9100 standards. Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, be able to interpret engineering drawings, and work under pressure. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in first-principle inspection of complex aerospace parts.
  • Strong understanding of ISO geometric tolerances.
  • Ability to perform complex inspections under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect aerospace components using precision tools and CMMs.
  • Run CMMs, interpret results, and validate new products.
  • Complete FAI reports to AS9100 standards.
  • Conduct MSA/R&R studies to maintain accuracy.
  • Develop QADs for operational checks.
  • Perform visual inspections against drawings and standards.
  • Calibrate tooling as required.
  • Maintain traceability of inspection records.

Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a Skilled Inspector on a 6-month fixed-term contract to join their quality team. Working on behalf of the client, you will ensure that every part leaving their facility is fully compliant, accurate, and traceable. This is a pivotal role for someone who takes pride in precision, quality, and supporting high-performance manufacturing processes.

Quality Inspector - Aerospace Components

Location: Altham | Client: Leading Aerospace Manufacturer
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) | Hours: Monday - Friday | 37 hours per week

Job Description
  • Inspect complex aerospace components using first principles, precision tools, and CMMs.
  • Run CMMs and interpret results, including validating new products before batch production.
  • Complete FAI (First Article Inspection) reports to AS9100 standards using Visual FAI software.
  • Conduct MSA / R&R studies and interpret findings to maintain measurement accuracy.
  • Develop Quality Assurance Documents (QADs) to define in-process checks for operational teams.
  • Perform visual inspections against customer drawings and standard work instructions, including setting visual standards.
  • Calibrate product tooling as required.
  • Maintain complete traceability of inspection paperwork and records.
Person Specification
  • Time-served engineer/inspector with proven experience in first-principle inspection of complex parts.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including ISO geometric tolerances.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques and quality tools.
  • Meticulous, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure, independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
