Job description

Join a precision engineering specialist as a Part-Time Quality / Mechanical Inspector in Havant. Enjoy flexible hours, competitive pay and a vital role ensuring aerospace-level quality standards.

  • Part-time | Approximately 24 hours per week, Monday–Thursday
  • 07:30–13:30 (no lunch) or 07:30–14:00 (with lunch)
  • £15.00 – £16.00 per hour

Our client is a precision engineering company based in Havant, specialising in the subcontract manufacture of high-accuracy components and assemblies for demanding industries such as aerospace, oil & gas, and underwater sectors. They operate to the highest quality standards, working within an AS9100-compliant quality management system to deliver robust components on time and with exceptional precision.

Role Overview

They are seeking a part-time Quality / Mechanical Inspector to support our busy operations in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine mechanical and visual inspection of parts (pre- and post-treatment), including first-off inspections
  • Inspect using manual measuring methods and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), where required
  • Prepare and issue customer-required paperwork, including FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), SCARs, NCRs and other documentation as specified
  • Submit quality documentation through customer portals accurately and on time
  • Review and check material certifications and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Monitor and record rejects/non-conformances and raise issues as needed
  • Participate in NQA and internal audits, respond to quality issues, and support continuous improvement
  • Plan and manage your workload, prioritising tasks in a dynamic production environment
