Qualifications

  • Strong engineering background in mechanical, materials, or manufacturing.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of NDT.
  • PCN Level 2 or CSWIP Certification required.
  • Experience in a Quality Engineer role within heavy engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and complete all related documentation.
  • Perform NDT, MPI and LPU tests and inspections.
  • Track quality milestones and create quality plans.
  • Assist in achieving ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System.
  • Conduct supplier visits and implement feedback.
  • Train and mentor junior employees.

Roles/Responsibilities

This role is a mixture of desk-based work and hands-on participation on the shop floor within a heavy engineering environment. Tasks will include:

  • Ensuring the company are compliant to rigorous standards and requirements and completing all related technical documentation
  • Performing NDT, MPI and LPU test and inspections
  • Tracking quality milestones, risks, cost, impacts and using this data to create quality plans
  • Work to ISO9001 standards and assist in achieving AS9100 certification
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System
  • Carry out supplier visits and implement feedback
  • Train and mentor junior employees within the Quality departmtent
What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A strong engineering background (mechanical, materials, manufacturing, welding etc) This can be in the form of a qualification or significant experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience of NDT
  • PCN Level 2 or CSWIP Certification
  • Experience in a Quality Engineer role within a heavy engineering/ fabrication/ welding environment

Desirable:

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • Experience in nuclear or military industries
