Job description

Hours: Monday to Thursday (8.00am to 5.00pm) and Fridays (7.30am to 12.30pm)

Contracted hours: 39 per week

Holidays/Benefits: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, After every 5 years' service an extra day holiday up to a max of 4 days, annual pay rises negotiated yearly, pension, modern work environment, free parking, uniform.

Overview:

Working within modern, purpose-built manufacturing facilities, the Quality Engineer will be working for a precision engineering business that manufacture components using first class machining and fabrication techniques.

Brief overview of duties:
  • Support the Quality Manager in maintaining certifications.
  • Conduct product and system audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
  • Compile documentation packs to support product delivery and traceability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine quality standards.
  • Apply First Article Inspection techniques in line with AS9100 requirements
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the business
  • Use quality tools to detect, contain, and investigate non-conformances, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented
  • Define and apply process control methods, including identifying critical control points and developing work instructions
The ideal candidate / Quality Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
  • Experience with data collection and analysis
  • A strong background at implementing quality systems within a precision engineering environment - aerospace/machining/fabrication or similar
  • Experienced in Lean/problem solving techniques (8D), Kaizen.
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma process beneficial
  • Competent/capable of driving quality throughout a large business and manufacturer
