Qualifications

Quality Engineer - Metrology
Permanent, full-time

Location: Gateshead

GBP38,000 - GBP45,000 + benefits

An experience Quality Engineer is required to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business, where you ll play a key role in ensuring quality and precision across a wide range of products.

What you ll be doing:

  • Programming and operating CMM equipment and using a range of manual measurement tools (profile projectors, verniers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and measuring critical features across pre-production, validation and series production parts.
  • Supporting quality engineering activities, including APQP/PPAP/MSA/PFMEA documentation.
  • Maintaining calibration registers, performing basic preventative maintenance, and ensuring accurate measurement processes.
  • Providing guidance and training to colleagues on measurement techniques and best practices.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activities and maintaining high standards of 5S and housekeeping.

What we re looking for:

  • Qualification to BTEC, ONC, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of metrology and measurement processes.
  • Proven experience with CMM operation and programming
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 environments (desirable).
