Job summary

A leading high-precision manufacturer in Huddersfield seeks a Quality Engineer to ensure product integrity through inspections, manage calibration systems, and support production teams. Ideal candidates will have experience in quality engineering or manufacturing, be meticulous with First Article Inspection Reports, and possess a positive attitude. The role offers a chance to contribute to continuous improvement in the quality function within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspection of high-precision components.
  • Work in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System procedures.
  • Complete detailed First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Manage and maintain the calibration of inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Document all inspection results accurately within the QC system.
  • Support production teams with quality-related queries and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the quality function.

Skills

Experience in a Quality Engineer or similar role in manufacturing
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Positive “can-do” attitude
CMM programming skills (Mitutoyo MCosmos)
Experience with calibration system management
Ability to produce accurate First Article Inspection Reports
Excellent attention to detail
