Quality Engineer
Location: Alton
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £ 32k-34k, 22 days holiday plus BH, Pension

Overview

Syntech Recruitment are working with a long established client who are looking for a proactive and skilled Quality Engineer to join our Quality team. This role is key in driving exceptional product quality, process performance and customer satisfaction across our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality support for high-risk processes and new product introductions
  • Perform product and process inspections, producing clear and accurate reports
  • Operate and maintain QC lab and metrology equipment
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Participate in internal, customer and regulatory audits
  • Develop, monitor and analyse KPIs to improve quality performance
  • Contribute to Lean and Six Sigma projects that reduce defects and improve efficiency
  • Support APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA and error-proofing activities
  • Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to resolve concerns
  • Deliver training and provide guidance to increase quality capability across site
  • Collaborate closely with Technical, Operations and Supply Chain teams
What we're looking for
  • Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Expertise in structured problem-solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone etc.)
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma & continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings and use measurement tools
  • IT proficient, including statistical software
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline (preferred)
