Job summary

A leading staffing agency in the UK is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to inspect, assemble, and package laboratory consumables. You will set up and operate packaging equipment, ensure quality standards, and complete necessary paperwork. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in a manufacturing setting. This role offers a dynamic work environment in support of research and clinical applications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting, or related field.
  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate packaging and labelling equipment.
  • Print labels using approved label software.
  • Complete required paperwork related to packaging and labelling.
  • Develop and understand material process flow.
  • Assist in Quality Control and in-process inspections.
  • Cross train and help in other departments as needed.
  • Perform calibration and preventative maintenance of labelling equipment.
  • Promote a constructive working environment.
  • Process label work orders and any documents requiring printing.
  • Input downtime data and process batch records.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required.

Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills
IT literate, specifically Microsoft Office

Job description
Summary

The main function of a Manufacturing Technician is to inspect, assemble, and package laboratory consumables in accordance with defined specifications and quality standards. While the Laboratory Products Division plays a vital part in supporting research, diagnostic, and clinical environments.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate packaging and labelling equipment.
  • Print labels using the approved label software.
  • Complete required paperwork related to Packaging / Labelling – Batch Record Sheets, Engineering Change Notices, deviations, etc.
  • Develop and understand material process flow, including knowledge of raw material, staging, work in process, paperwork, storage areas, general production steps.
  • Assist in Quality Control / Peer Review with in-process inspections and finished goods inspections.
  • Cross train and help in other departments as needed.
  • Perform calibration and preventative maintenance of labelling equipment.
  • Promote a constructive working environment by building and maintaining positive relationships with co-workers.
  • Process label work orders for manufacturing departments, travellers, and any other documents that require printing.
  • Input downtime data and process batch records.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required.
Education

High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.

Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field.
