Quality Compliance Manager Barnsley Plant Role description

The Barnsley business unit has an exciting opportunity for anyone who wishes to pursue a career within the Finished Products Department, to assist the Quality Manager in ensuring quality of finished products meets all customer requirements

Responsibilities
  • Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you; ensuring all cold end staff follow company policies and procedures.
  • Support FPA’s on job changes, and cover for FPA’s when absent.
  • Support Resort Team Supervisor to ensure WSA is kept to a minimum whilst ensuring customers receive quality containers on time.
  • Assist on customer/consumer complaint investigations to help ascertain root cause and determine appropriate corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Support and develop shift teams so that they have a deeper understanding of the process, customer requirements and the correct approach to quality.
  • Support and develop shift teams to build productive, quality focussed relationships between quality and production departments.
  • Support and develop shift teams so that they provide accurate data and information to the production department for continuous improvement.
  • Support the Quality Manager & Finished Products Manager to continually improve all aspects of inspection and packing within the cold end.
Required skills / qualifications
  • Glass industry experience within a relevant area (cold end, quality, engineering)
  • Understanding of the full range of bottle faults and their origins
  • Detailed Knowledge of Quality Control Paperwork and Procedures
  • Detailed Knowledge of Cold End Processes and Procedures
  • Working knowledge of a relevant specialism e.g. Quality, Engineering
  • Familiarity with inspection equipment.
  • Awareness of relevant Regulations - Health & Safety Regulations
  • Customer Specifications and requirements
