Job description

Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading food company for their site in Craigavon on the appointment of Quality Assurance Supervisor.

The main role of the QA Supervisor will be to support the QA Manager and will be responsible for management of QA team activities such as organising and overseeing daily department tasks, staff development and training and ensuring compliance within the requirements of our Quality Management System.

What your day to day will look like as QA Supervisor:

• First point of contact for QA Technicians and also mentoring placement students
• Department task list management and allocation of duties on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure compliance with required standards
• Daily verification of key CCP records and key operational requirements from production departments
• Management of factory audits - GMP / G&P / Traceability - ensuring audits are completed to schedule in a timely manner, follow up on close out actions
• Completion of traceability audits (monthly)
• Participation during third party audits (e.g. BRC / Retailer)
• Ensure up to date specification / reference material is always in use (approved supplier lists, checkweigher information, QAS documentation)
• Propose and complete up-dates or amendments to QMS records where required
• Assist with management of incidents should they arise
• Complete monthly team briefs and collate key points for review and action, circulating to relevant personnel
• Management of site calibration requirements - point of contact for on-site calibration contractors
• Involvement with pest control contractor, routine visits and field biologist, trending and capture of information from inhouse pest management practices

What you will need to succeed:

• Previous experience in quality assurance/food safety within a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food hygiene, and quality management systems (QMS).
• Experience in audits (internal, third-party, or retailer) and maintaining compliance documentation.
• Proven team leadership/supervisory experience - training, mentoring, and task allocation.
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to work with staff, management, and external auditors.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis experience.
• Flexible approach to working hours to meet operational requirements.
