Job description

Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking a Quality Assurance Service Manager to lead the delivery of our audit and performance monitoring programme, ensuring the highest standards of practice across the Directorate.

About the Role

As the Quality Assurance Service Manager, you will:

  • Direct and coordinate all aspects of the Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Develop and implement robust quality assurance systems and monitoring tools.
  • Undertake audits and investigations, analyse data, and report findings to senior leadership teams and strategic boards.
  • Lead the development and dissemination of practice standards across children's services.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to embed Signs of Safety as the operational framework.
  • Manage a team engaged in audit activities and children's rights functions, including recruitment, supervision, and performance management.
Main Accountabilities
  • Design and deliver audit and quality assurance systems aligned with national and local standards to support the Directorate's Improvement Plan.
  • Conduct audits, produce reports, and present findings to senior leadership, ensuring recommendations lead to measurable improvements.
  • Develop systems for sharing audit outcomes and quality assurance findings to drive service improvement.
  • Collaborate with partners to embed Signs of Safety and promote best practice.
  • Update and implement local procedures, policies, and practice standards across all children's services.
  • Coordinate internal and multi-agency audits, learning events, and targeted training identified through QA processes.
  • Undertake specialist tasks such as Management Case Reviews and audits arising from court directions.
  • Work with colleagues to design learning and training programmes that address service improvement needs.
  • Line manage staff engaged in audit and children's rights activities, aligning their work plans with business objectives.
Skills
  • Experience of working in qualified social work positions, working with children, young people and their families.
  • Experience of carrying out auditing activities and performance monitoring in relation to children's services.
