Job description

Our client is an innovative biotechnology company based outside of the centre of Cambridge. They have built a platform to synthesize DNA, providing exciting possibilities for ensuring cheaper, faster, and more accurate DNA/gene constructs than traditional plasmid-based methods. During a key growth phase, our client is looking to hire a QA Officer to support the development and maintenance of QMS within a GMP-compliant environment. If you are an experienced QA professional within the biotech/pharmaceutical GMP sector, this may be an opportunity of interest.

The Opportunity

This role is suitable for Quality Assurance / QA / Quality Engineering professionals with prior experience in GMP quality assurance and QMS within a biological or pharmaceutical setting. The responsibilities include:

  • Supporting QA functions such as documentation, CAPAs, risk management, change control, supplier management, and training management.
  • Supporting internal and external audits (supplier/regulatory bodies).
  • Maintaining QMS documentation control.
  • Ensuring compliance with GDP and GMP regulations.
  • Other quality assurance activities as required.

Skills and Experience Needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A BSc, MSc, or PhD in a biological/biotechnology discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Existing QA experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical sector.
  • GMP quality experience.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating a QMS, including deviation investigations, CAPAs, change control, and non-conformance management.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and a drive to complete tasks.
  • Full, long-term right to work in the UK.
