  • Strong experience within Children’s Services Quality Assurance / Audit.
  • Ideally, experience contributing to Ofsted-related improvement work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth case audits with practitioners and managers.
  • Gather and assess feedback from children, families, and partner professionals.
  • Audit supervision at both child and practitioner level.

Quality Assurance and Practice Development Manager

Rate: Up to £45 per hour (Inside IR35)

Location: Hybrid – Office base in Northampton

Contract: Until February 2026 (initially)

We are currently seeking an Interim Quality Assurance and Practice Development Manager to support the delivery of high‑quality services for vulnerable children. The role is key in evaluating the quality and impact of practice, ensuring compliance with statutory and local requirements, and producing clear, evidence‑based reports to help senior leaders drive improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth case audits with practitioners and managers
  • Gather and assess feedback from children, families and partner professionals
  • Complete thematic sampling and report on targeted areas of practice
  • Coach and support practitioners and managers to develop good practice
  • Train managers in effective audit techniques
  • Audit supervision at both child and practitioner level
  • Moderate audits to ensure consistent, evidence‑based judgements
  • Analyse audit findings and present them to senior leaders
  • Promote safeguarding, equality and high‑quality practice across the service
Essential Requirements:
  • Professional social work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)
  • Strong experience within Children’s Services Quality Assurance / Audit
  • Ideally, experience contributing to Ofsted‑related improvement work
