Job description

Aspire are a recruitment agency who are working with a dedicated and inclusive school committed to providing high-quality education to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in both mainstream and specialist settings. We are looking for an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team and help us continue to provide outstanding support and care to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and tailored lessons to students with a range of SEN.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support the development of social and emotional skills in students with SEN.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - A must.
  • Previous long-term teaching experience within both mainstream and SEN schools.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with a variety of SEN, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of SEN code of practice and the ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working with students with physical disabilities or more complex needs.
  • Additional SEN qualifications or training (e.g., Makaton, Team-Teach, ASD awareness).
