About the role

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are seeking a motivated and professional qualified Science Teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools in Smethwick. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about Science and committed to helping students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Prepare students for GCSE Science examinations, ensuring lessons are aligned with the UK National Curriculum and exam board specifications
  • Use practical experiments, demonstrations, and interactive teaching methods to bring scientific concepts to life
  • Support pupils of varying abilities, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking in the subject
  • Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with school policies, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
  • Contribute to extracurricular science activities, clubs, or enrichment opportunities where possible
What we’re looking for
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, with the ability to specialise in at least one discipline
  • Experience preparing pupils for GCSE Science examinations (desirable)
  • A motivated, professional and proactive attitude with a passion for inspiring students in STEM
  • Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting (desirable but not essential)
