This Position reports to:

Service Manager

Represents ABB as Home Based, Field Service Engineer in the North East of England on customer paper manufacturing facilities.

  • As part of the Northern Service Team provide 24/7 support on site for ABB QCS and DCS equipment.
  • After initial ABB product training, you will be responsible to deliver the Service Agreement to scope, activities include Preventative and Corrective maintenance on ABB QCS/DCS equipment, configuration, calibration, modification, cleaning, adjustment.
  • Participate in a 1 week in 3 on Call Rota.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with customer across production and engineering.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide High level field and in house technical support, including out of hours support.
  • Fulfil Service Agreement obligations, demonstrated by the use of ABB ServicePro and other reporting tools.
  • Provide application support and software troubleshooting to customers, on site and by remote dial in.
  • Advises clients as to maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement and control.
  • Flexibility to travel to sites anywhere in the UK for above activities in addition to primary areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare and write technical reports for internal and external use.
  • Promote sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts, and advise Sales department of possible sales leads.
  • Assists Sales and Account management with preparation of quotations.
  • Commission equipment in the field as part of the project team.
Qualifications for the Role
  • Degree or HND in Electrical or Measurement & Control Engineering - essential.
  • Clean Driving Licence (UK) - essential.
