Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in Sherburn in Elmet is seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor to conduct audits, manage quality incidents, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a food manufacturing environment, strong administrative skills, and be proficient in Excel and Word. This role offers various benefits including a pension plan and a healthcare cash plan. Shifts are available across nights, afternoons, and days.

  • Conduct audits (PFS, Glass & Plastic, Cleaning Standards) and report findings promptly.
  • Investigate Quality or Food Safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage calibration, micro testing schedules, and food safety checks.
  • Deliver Critical Control Point (CCP) training.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits (PFS, Glass & Plastic, Cleaning Standards) and report findings promptly.
  • Investigate Quality or Food Safety incidents, NCRs, and customer complaints; implement corrective actions using root cause analysis.
  • Manage calibration, micro testing schedules, and food safety checks (ATP/allergen swabs).
  • Support daily taste panels, technical tracker updates, and documentation for audits/complaints.
  • Hold or repair out-of-spec products; sign off rework and raise waivers as needed.
  • Ensure site calibration for scales and probes are completed.
  • Testing and Inspection of Chocolate Tankers where required.
  • Deliver Critical Control Point (CCP) training and act as Quality Champion across the site.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Quality Assurance Auditor in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of retailer standards.
  • Auditor training.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative skills and use of Excel and Word.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Level 2 Food Safety.

Hours & Shift Pattern
  • Nights: Sunday: 18:00 - 06:00 / Monday - Thursday: 22:00 - 06:00.
  • Afters: Monday - Thursday: 14:00 - 22:00.
  • Days: Monday - Thursday: 06:00 - 14:00 / Friday: 06:00 - 18:00.
