Public Realm Supervisor

Grade: GLPC - F

About the Role

Are you ready to lead frontline teams in shaping Nottingham's green spaces? We're looking for a proactive and motivated Public Realm Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations and performance across Grounds Maintenance sites, including HRA estates, public highways, and Parks.

This role is vital to maintaining high standards of service delivery, mentoring staff, and driving continuous improvement. You will be responsible for supervising up to 20 frontline operatives and coordinating with subcontractors and partners to ensure the city\'s public realm is safe, attractive, and well-managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise operational teams to deliver high-quality greenspace maintenance.
  • Oversee daily performance, productivity, and quality assurance.
  • Allocate labour, plant, and materials effectively to meet service standards.
  • Support induction, training, and probation monitoring for new staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Council policies.
  • Conduct ward walks, estate inspections, and develop work plans based on findings.
  • Maintain accurate records including timesheets, RTWs, and absence logs.
  • Participate in standby rota for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
