Job summary

Qualifications

  • Support the Heads of Government and Public Affairs and Communications in achieving CI’s global objectives.
  • Coordinate CI’s Government Affairs and Communications committees.
  • Draft high-quality content for campaigns, briefings, and policy papers.
  • Monitor and analyse EU and global policy developments related to cobalt.
  • Promote flagship events such as the Cobalt Congress 2026.

We’re looking for a motivated and collaborative Public Affairs and Communications Officer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of global policy, industry, and sustainability.

What you’ll do

You’ll play a central role in advancing CI’s communications and public affairs strategy across Europe and internationally. From political analysis and policy briefings to stakeholder engagement and event delivery, you’ll help position CI as a trusted voice on critical raw materials and sustainability.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the Heads of Government and Public Affairs and Communications in achieving CI’s global objectives.
  • Coordinating CI’s Government Affairs and Communications committees to ensure smooth operations and timely follow-up.
  • Drafting high-quality content for campaigns, briefings, and policy papers.
  • Monitoring and analysing EU and global policy developments related to cobalt and critical minerals.
  • Supporting the organisation and promotion of flagship events such as the Cobalt Congress 2026, webinars, and site visits.
  • Managing external communications, website updates, and stakeholder databases.
  • Enhancing CI’s visibility through strategic content and proactive engagement.
What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who combines political insight, communication skill, and organisational flair.

You’ll need:

  • A strong understanding of EU and international policymaking, ideally around sustainability, critical raw materials, or industrial policy.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in public affairs, policy, or communications—preferably in a consultancy, association, or policy environment.
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in event planning, digital content creation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and confidence working across teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written English (knowledge of French or Mandarin is a plus).
Essentials
  • University degree in political science, international relations, communications, law, economics, or related field.
  • Eligibility to work in the EU or UK.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Brussels and London.
