Job Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients within the Rochester area who are a popular and massively over-subscribed school, being first choice for many families, looking to recruit recruiting a driven Psychology Teacher who has a real passion for the subject.

We are helping our client to seek an inspirational Teacher of Psychology with excellent subject knowledge. The successful candidate will join the school’s enthusiastic department, working and collaborating with an exceptionally dedicated and talented team of practitioners.

The ideal candidate is someone who will make the education of their pupils their first concern and are accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct.

They must act with honesty and integrity; have strong subject knowledge, keep their knowledge and skills as teachers up-to-date and are self-critical; forge positive professional relationships; and work with parents in the best interests of their pupils.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish a safe and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect
  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons
  • Guide pupils to reflect on the progress they have made and their emerging needs
  • Be responsible for maintaining teaching rooms in a clean and tidy state and facilitating the display of students’ work and maintain good order and behaviour in the classroom
  • Make use of formative and summative assessment to secure pupils’ progress

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree
  • Experience teaching Psychology across secondary schools and further education.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and enjoy working in a school environment.
  • Punctual, trustworthy and can work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff.
  • Ability to motivate, stretch and challenge students
