The children that attend this school struggle with their mental health and anxiety and this can impact their education and behaviour. Not only do they struggle with coping with their emotions and mental health needs, they still need to get through the school day and ensure that they are meeting their goals. This is where your role as Mental Health Assistant comes in!

You will support them with all their needs in the classroom and model healthy ways for them to cope with their emotions. While you will be supporting the children, you will have the support of the class teacher yourself!

Responsibilities
  • Providing support and assistance in 1 to 1 or in small group settings.
  • You will take part in providing specific teaching techniques
  • Reinforce any therapeutic techniques that the teacher has put in place to support the children
Qualifications and qualities
  • Those who have a degree in psychology or criminology will greatly benefit from this role and the experience it offers. Those with similar degrees are also encouraged to apply.
