This hands-on role focuses on the strip, build, and inspection of prototype transmission systems. Candidates should have strong mechanical assembly skills and the ability to work from engineering drawings. The position offers an hourly rate of £17 per hour plus holiday pay, with an immediate start and a 6-month contract length.

Qualifications

• Proven background assembling, stripping or validating complex mechanical assemblies.
• Strong capability to read, interpret and work accurately to engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience modifying or fabricating prototype hardware (e.g., machining, drilling, grinding, welding).

Responsibilities

• Strip, build, assemble and inspect prototype transmissions in line with manuals.
• Investigate and fault‑find build issues, manufacturing defects and mechanical failures.
• Install instrumentation, sensors, and bespoke modifications as directed by engineering.
