A recruitment agency is seeking a candidate with extensive knowledge of the property market in the North West to assist a Local Authority in securing homes. This role involves negotiating housing opportunities and ensuring compliance with standards for temporary accommodation. The ideal candidate will be financially literate and able to drive results across various council services. Flexibility in location is provided, but maintenance of a base in the North is essential.
Park Avenue are working with a Local Authority looking to secure homes at scale, particularly in the North West, and seeking someone with specialist knowledge of the property market in this region.
The council is moving away from reliance on the private rented sector for temporary accommodation, towards stock under council ownership or long leases (10+ years). The role will be key in driving this acquisition strategy and ensuring affordability, quality, and sustainability.
We're looking for someone who:
Is North West-based with strong property market contacts
Can negotiate and secure opportunities in a competitive market
Understands compliance and standards for TA/emergency housing
Is financially literate - able to run viability assessments, business cases, and reports
Drives work across council services and at pace to deliver results
You won't need to be in the council's London offices, but the ability to travel and maintain a base in the North is crucial.
