Project Worker 2.Are you looking for a new challenge and want to be a part of developing an exciting new service.Do you have experience undertaking youth work provision or participation work with children young people and young adults.Barnardo's is seeking to recruit two Project Worker 2s who will support the delivery of the Ubuntu project across NI.Ubuntu roughly translating to I am because we are an exciting new project Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and delivered by Barnardos. The Ubuntu Project is focused on supporting communities and connecting voluntary and statutory organisations working directly with children young people and families who have arrived into NI seeking sanctuary this includes those who have arrived as refugees and those who make a claim for asylum after they arrive The project has 3 strands, Ubuntu Youth Voice Network, Ubuntu Practitioners Network and the Community Development Strand.The post holder will support work across all 3 strands of Ubuntu however a particular focus will be on leading youth and participation work within the Youth Voice Network Please refer to the linked additional information sheet containing more info.This role involves regional direct work across Northern Ireland and base can be negotiable It will also require occasional evening and weekend work Home working may be permitted on occasion.When completing your application form, please refer to the skills, knowledge and experience required as detailed in the Person Specification and the Essential Criteria included in this Additional Information Sheet, your application will be assessed based on ability to meet these criteria.Although this contract has a permanent status please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 30th June 2028 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.   • To support sanctuary seeing young people through the development and facilitation of the Ubuntu Youth Voice Network and its groups
  • Develop and deliver participation and leadership training for young people and young adults.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience of designing and facilitating group work programmes, with and for, children, young people and young adults.
  • Demonstrable experience of using a range of innovative methods and approaches to participation with children and young people.Demonstratable experience of working within confidentiality, GDPR, Safeguarding Policies and Procedures, and promoti
  • Ability to complete written reports, collate impact reports and session recordings in English and have IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with children and young people across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and abilities, demonstrating sensitivity, inclusivity, and adaptability in communication and approach.
  • Experience of delivering programmes to participants whose first language isn’t English
  • Experience of working with families arrived seeking sanctuary, where the effects of trauma and distress have been a feature of the needs identified.
