Summary

Caersalem House, our Supported Accommodation service in the Rhondda area, has an opportunity for a Project Worker to join its well-established team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Overview

The successful candidate will need to have a drivers licence and access to a car with appropriate business insurance.

Where does the role fit it?

Caersalem House is a supported accommodation service which provides a housing solution for homeless people with varying support needs. Here at Caersalem, we work with the people we support to plan goals that will enable them to live independently in their own tenancy. It is also a chance for people who were homeless to engage with specialist services who will attend to their other support needs.

Day To Day Duties

As a Project Worker, you will support service users to develop the key skills they require to achieve positive progression and to develop the skills to re-settle in the community. Project workers are expected to lead each shift and to direct the work of scheme support officers.

Your Day Will Consist Of
  • Engaging and interacting with our service users.
  • Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
  • Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
  • Liaising with external agencies
  • Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
  • Wellbeing checks
  • Organising and participating in day trips
  • Maintenance checks such as health & safety, fire safety
  • Cleaning as required
  • Managing and planning your workload efficiently

Our motivation is to ensure we equip the people we support with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to really make a difference to the lives of the people we support and help them to, build on their confidence and skills to move into their own tenancies within the RCT area.

Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, where you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.

  • Full-time (37 hrs), Permanent position
  • Competitive salary of £26,072.00 + £51.11 sleep-in allowance
  • Shift pattern: the service is staffed 24/7 therefore you will be required to work: Days, waking nights, sleep in shifts and weekend availability.
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for
  • 26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
