Overview

The Vacancy

Now Hiring: Project Worker - The Rosses (Non-24hr Supported Housing) - Londonderry - 9 Months Maternity Cover Post

We are Inspire Wellbeing - one of Ireland's leading mental health, intellectual disability, and community support organisations. At The Rosses, we help people live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes.

About The Rosses

The Rosses is a non-24-hour supported housing service based in Londonderry. We support adults living with enduring mental health challenges—ranging from depression and anxiety to personality disorders—to maintain their tenancies and live as independently as possible. We also provide general housing support to tenants from local housing waiting lists.

Our team doesn't deliver personal care or medication support—instead, we empower people with the life skills and practical help they need to thrive, whether that's managing appointments, developing routines, connecting with others or navigating the world of housing and benefits. Every flat here is self-contained, allowing our residents to feel truly at home.

We work in partnership with Choice Housing and multiple local professionals (e.g. Community Mental Health Teams, Allied Health Professionals) to provide wrap-around, tailored support.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Project Worker, you'll become part of a small, person-centred team who support people with:

  • Maintaining their tenancy and independent living skills
  • Building social connections and reducing isolation
  • Managing appointments, health concerns, and financial needs
  • Creating personalised support and safety plans
  • Liaising with health professionals, families and community services
  • Encouraging participation in activities like breakfast clubs, bingo, book groups, gardening, and more
  • Supporting day-to-day running of the service including H&S checks, note recording (on iPlanit), and Choice Housing coordination
Shifts You'll Work

You'll work Monday to Friday with:

  • Four long days (8:00am - 5:00pm)
  • One short day (8:00am - 2:00pm)

This role is ideal for someone who wants work-life balance with evenings and weekends off.

What Makes This Job Special?

This is a low-needs, high-impact service. People here are fairly well-functioning and independent, but your support helps them stay well, stay connected, and stay safe. You'll get to:

  • Build meaningful relationships with tenants
  • Make a real difference through everyday conversations and encouragement
  • Bring your own interests into work—supporting bingo, breakfast clubs, or even starting your own social group!
  • Work in a positive, welcoming environment where staff are supported and appreciated
  • Grow your skills through ongoing training and personal development
Who Thrives Here?

People who succeed at The Rosses are:

  • Compassionate, calm and great with people
  • Motivated, organised and proactive
  • Excellent communicators, both verbally and in writing
  • Comfortable with basic IT systems (e.g. iPlanit)
  • Good at managing their time and juggling priorities
  • Able to work both in a team and independently

If that sounds like you - we'd love to hear from you.

What We Offer

Benefits include:

  • Flexible work schedule (no weekend shifts)
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Enhanced annual leave and occupational sick pay
  • Company pension & death in service benefit
  • Health cash plan, 24/7 employee assistance programme
  • Cycle to work scheme & shopping discounts
  • A team who really values kindness, inclusion and honesty
