Project Planner vacancy in Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, Wales (Site Based)* (015CM)

Location: Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, Wales (Site Based)*

Region: Wales

Salary: c£65,000 - £80,000 / annum pro‑ra‑ta based on duration employed

Our client is a leading demolition and remediation contractor, delivering projects ranging in value from £100k to over £20m. With a directly employed workforce and a modern, in‑house plant fleet, they self‑deliver the majority of their works across sites nationwide. Their continued success is driven by technical expertise, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to quality and safety. This role is for an experienced Project Planner to join our client's team on a fixed‑term contract basis to support a major demolition and deconstruction project at Trawsfynydd, Wales. This is a site‑based role responsible for undertaking all planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring activities on a large and complex project. You will play a key role in developing, updating, and maintaining the programme of works, ensuring accurate reporting and full compliance with contractual requirements, including NEC4.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake planning and scheduling functions for a large demolition and deconstruction project.
  • Produce, update, monitor, and maintain the project programme throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop programmes from first principles, incorporating three‑point estimates, time risk allowances, and risk‑adjusted programmes.
  • Ensure production of accurate, up‑to‑date programmes for the duration of the project.
  • Review project progress in collaboration with the project team and produce reports as required.
  • Collect and analyse progress information and prepare progress reporting.
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules.
  • Support the project team on planning and programming matters.
  • Attend project meetings with internal teams, clients, and third‑party stakeholders.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all planning outputs.
  • Ability to obtain site‑level security clearance is essential.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Construction‑related Bachelor’s degree.
  • MCIOB status desirable.
  • Proven experience at project level on complex construction, demolition, or deconstruction projects.
  • Experience working within the nuclear sector is highly desirable.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong capability in planning and scheduling major demolition and deconstruction projects.
  • Proficient in the use of industry‑standard planning software, including Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project.
  • Sound understanding of NEC4‑compliant programmes.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator able to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage complex information and competing priorities.
