Job summary

A regional authority in the UK is seeking a committed Nature Projects Delivery Officer to join the Environment Team. You will support the delivery of nature-based projects, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and manage data updates. Ideal candidates will have experience in project coordination and a strong awareness of environmental issues. This is a three-year fixed-term contract based in Birmingham, requiring at least two days a week in the office.

Overview

We’re looking for a committed and proactive Nature Projects Delivery Officer to join the Environment Team at the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). This role is being offered on a three year fixed-term contract.

This is a great opportunity to support the delivery of nature-based projects across the region – helping us protect and restore green spaces, attract environmental investment, and drive forward our Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS).

You’ll work closely with the Nature Projects Delivery Manager, internal teams, and external partners including local authorities, environmental charities and national bodies. From managing data and coordinating meetings to supporting funding bids and project reporting, no two days will be the same.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting the delivery of nature projects, including those in our LNRS
  • Coordinating stakeholder engagement and governance activity
  • Managing data and updates for the Nature Investment Hub
  • Assisting with funding applications and reporting
  • Contributing to budget tracking and communications activity
  • Working collaboratively with partners to deliver environmental impact across the region
Essential qualifications and experience
  • Experience supporting or coordinating projects and engaging stakeholders
  • Awareness of environmental or nature-based issues in the UK
  • Excellent communication, organisation and data handling skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Location

The location for this role is Summer Lane at least 2 days a week spent in the office.
