Job summary

A project development consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to oversee new-build developments and refurbishments, mainly for industrial and retail projects. The role offers significant remote working flexibility, allowing you to work autonomously from home or the office. You will act as the Employer’s Agent on JCT Design & Build contracts and must have experience in project management or quantity surveying. This is an excellent opportunity to work with blue-chip clients without the hassle of commuting to an office.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage client expectations.

If you do still want to go to the office, they do have one, but you'll be given full autonomy to work wherever you'd like and treated like a grown‑up. If the work is being done, they don't mind where you are, as long as you live roughly around the Midlands to allow for regular client visits.

You'd be project managing all manner of new-build developments and refurbishments, mainly industrial-led with some retail in there too, for some large and impressive blue‑chip clients. You’ll be the lead on all of the contract administration on JCT Design & Build contracts, acting as Employer’s Agent, or taking on even more responsibility as the projects go on. It’s as close to being client-side as you can get without actually working for them.

Ideally you'll have a consultancy or developer background as a project manager, quantity surveyor or similar, and have some experience with new build projects, industrial or retail-led. You need to be able to work autonomously on projects and deal with client needs as and when they ask for them. But in return you'll be paid a leading salary and given the scope to work the way you want to.
