Overview

MSS Group, part of the RSK Group, have an exciting new opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to join their team as a Project Manager. The role will be based on site at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, UK with occasional visits to our head office in Cardiff. Please note this role will require the successful candidate to undergo security clearance checks.

Responsibilities
  • Manage labour, plant, transport, and equipment on site, ensuring all operations are carried out in a safe and legal manner and in accordance with the project plan.
  • Direct teams in the works, monitor allocation of labour to ensure tasks match skill level and that the correct tools and equipment are used at all times.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all personnel on site and that site activities do not cause adverse environmental impact.
  • Manage relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers and stakeholders. Produce delivery programmes. Liaise with planners to ensure compliance with NEC / Contract standards.

Monitor and review performance of site staff, including performance appraisals and disciplinaries.
  • Travel as required. Carry out quality and safety inspections. Onboard, allocate and manage sub-contractors and sub-contract labour.
  • Motivate the teams and lead a team of site workers; plan and organise own workload; manage customer, supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Produce complex project-specific RAMS and take-off materials from drawings for procurement. Hold a full UK driving licence and first aid qualification.
Qualifications and Experience
  • PRINCE2 qualified (or similar).
  • Experience in the Construction Industry on long-term projects.
  • NEC 3&4 Contract knowledge, including drafting notifications and supporting programming.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; good verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, CDM and industry requirements; awareness of employment legislation and best practice.
  • Computer literacy, MS Office suite; ability to identify problems and devise solutions; ability to meet targets and deadlines, often under difficult conditions.
  • Experience of leading a team of site workers and of planning and organising own workload.
  • Desirable: SMSTS; NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK); IOSH Managing Safely; Temporary Works Coordinator; Knowledge of asbestos regulations.
