Job description
Project Manager (Mechanical or Electrical) - Water Industry

Location: Sites across the South East (Thames & Southern Water schemes)

Sector: Water / MEICA

Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + BHs

We’re working with a well‑respected specialist contractor that’s busier than ever – and with Southern and Thames Water workloads climbing fast as we move deeper into AMP8, they’re only getting busier.

They’re on the lookout for a sharp, hands‑on Project Manager who knows how to take control of MEICA‑led projects from start to finish. You’ll be running a range of schemes (anything from £15K to £1m+) across the Water industry, covering Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, and Automation.

This isn’t a sit‑behind‑a‑desk kind of role. You’ll be visiting sites, working with subbies, managing clients, and keeping projects running smoothly from concept to commissioning. Expect autonomy, variety, and the chance to really make your mark.

What You’ll Be Doing as Project Manager
  • Leading multiple MEICA projects from cradle to grave
  • Managing project scoping, surveys, design input, resource planning, budgeting, procurement, and client updates
  • Juggling competing priorities, shifting deadlines, and commercial targets
  • Working closely with internal teams and subcontractors
  • Ensuring Health & Safety and project compliance is watertight
What You’ll Need
  • Strong mechanical or electrical background
  • Previous exposure to the UK Water industry (bonus if you’ve worked on AMP frameworks)
  • Solid communication, organisation, and leadership skills
  • The ability to get the job done with minimal fuss – someone who thrives under pressure
Perks
  • Salary up to £70,000 DOE
  • Car allowance/Car
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Fast‑growing workload = long‑term security
  • Good people, good culture, no fluff
