Job description

Are you ready to take your career to the next level, managing multi-million-pound construction projects that make a real difference? As a Project Manager within our SPN Investment Delivery team based at our Crawley office, you'll be at the forefront of delivering critical infrastructure, ensuring quality, safety, and innovation every step of the way.

Imagine joining a permanent team where your expertise is valued with a competitive salary of £80,574 plus car or allowance (subject to criteria) and a 3% bonus.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee and deliver portfolios of projects from inception to completion, maintaining the highest standards in time, cost, quality, safety, and environmental management. You'll drive construction assurance through rigorous audits, ensure adherence to specifications, and manage testing, commissioning, and compliance. Working closely with colleagues across Design, Infrastructure Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Network Operations, and Asset Management, you'll shape strategies, forecast resources, manage costs, and foster contractor performance. You'll also be responsible for producing delivery plans, providing monthly reports on achievements and forecasts, managing commercial arrangements, and identifying and mitigating project risks early. Your leadership will ensure the effective execution of the project governance process, support regulatory reporting, and maintain a focus on outstanding customer service, reducing interruptions and complaints, while keeping all project teams fully informed of safety and environmental requirements.

If you have proven experience managing construction or engineering projects valued at £10 million or more, ideally supported by a relevant degree or substantial equivalent experience, we want to hear from you. Your solid understanding of construction management best practice, familiarity with CDM regulations, ISO9001, project management tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, online collaboration platforms), and a recognised project management qualification or membership will set you apart. We are committed to fostering your continued development, supporting formal project management qualification as part of your journey with us.

You'll become a key leader in our Capital Programme & Procurement directorate, managing matrix-structured, multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all functions from procurement to capital approval are seamlessly delivered. As a manager, you'll play an essential role in upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management, ensuring effective communication and compliance at all levels.

At UK Power Networks, diversity and inclusion are at our core. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to offering an inclusive workplace for all.
