About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to work as part of the Programme Management Team and the wider Operations Team working out of our Rail & Technology hub at Trax Park, Doncaster or alternatively the successful candidate can be based at one of our other locations in Crewe or Southport. The Project Manager (PjM) will be accountable for the execution and day-to-day management of business‑critical complex strategic projects (eg. Yellow Plant, Localisation, Infrastructure, T&RS) in the Rail sector. Accountable for making daily decisions on the project parameters, processes and project execution to ensure the successful delivery of the project, on‑time, on‑schedule and on‑quality.

This will require effective influencing skills to engage the right people, in the right way, at the right time. The PjM will be delivering products and solutions in a highly regulated environment and is expected to critically drive projects over the line in a consistent manner in accordance with the Project Management governance and processes ensuring both the client's needs and Unipart Rail's targets for sales, profit and growth are met. Principally focused in the UK Rail markets, this position will require both local and international travel, sometimes at short notice, as and when required.

Qualifications & Education

Degree qualified in either Project Management, Engineering, or similar.

Formal professional Project Management qualification is required (PMI, APM).

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project (MSP) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the rail industry and Engineering
