Job description

A great opportunity for an experienced client side Project Manager to join a UK construction consultancy specialising in fit out projects across healthcare, veterinary, retail, and commercial sectors.

The role is split between site visits, the Romford office, and working from home, with office work only required on days with no scheduled site attendance.

This London Project Management job offers a competitive salary of up to £55,000 or more, depending on experience.

The successful construction Project Manager will oversee and manage a range of fit out projects from inception to completion, valued between £100K and £2M+, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Projects include healthcare, veterinary, retail, and wider commercial fit outs throughout London, mostly within the M25 with some projects in Essex.

Responsibilities and Duties

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage fit out projects from inception to completion
  • Develop pre-contract project plans, briefing documents, risk registers, and programmes
  • Lead and motivate project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery
  • Monitor and report on project progress, updating plans as required
  • Maintain communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates
  • Assist with budgeting, tendering, and cost control for minor works
  • Manage project completion, inspection, and close-out processes
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a consultancy environment
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple commercial fit out projects
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; MS Project experience is an advantage
  • Ability to manage relationships with clients and project teams effectively
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • Degree in a construction-related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional accreditation (RICS, APM, CIOB) or working towards accreditation desirable
