Overview

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to join a leading company in the electrical manufacturing industry? Based in our Edinburgh modern manufacturing facility, Mayfield is seeking a full-time Project Manager. This role will plan and control the development and delivery of allocated projects, from pre-contracts stage to handover to the client, to achieve specification and profit objectives while ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Use high quality project management principles to manage the time, cost and quality delivery of Mayfield switchboards and switchrooms.
  • Create project plans that clearly define deliverables for the project and communicate this to the team.
  • Work with the management team to allocate the required resources (workforce, equipment and suppliers) to meet project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and stakeholders to understand their objectives and desired outcomes and meet those expectations and the contract requirements.
  • Anticipate and manage contractual and project risks, problems, bottlenecks, and other impediments to workflow and in conjunction with the relevant function managers, instigate preventative and/or remedial action.
  • Manage the purchasing and procurement of materials and suppliers for production and construction purposes.
  • Ensure the project meets all contractual and company safety, quality and compliance requirements working with company Safety and Quality representatives.
  • Conduct project reviews and actively participate and contribute to continuous improvement.

What we're looking for
  • Tertiary studies in Electrical, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction and/or Trade related background are desirable.
  • Ideally a background of several years as an Engineer in Project related or similar business. Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager in a manufacturing/ construction or similar business.
  • Proven experience with MS Project (preferable) or similar Project Software.
