We are currently seeking an enthusiastic,hardworking individual to join our team as a Project Development& Funding Officer. The PDFU (Project Development &Funding Unit) is renowned for its ability to draw in funding fromexternal sources and has shown, repeatedly, to have anoutstanding performance in delivering all manner of projects,from inception to completion. The Unit has an excellent trackrecord in helping to make the County a better place to live,relax and work by developing amenities for sport, culture,recreation, education, the environment and general well-being.Team members have a 'Can Do' attitude and a creative approach tomeeting challenges head-on, delivering projects under a widerange of unique scenarios. The work is exciting, multi-faceted,often technical and demanding.

As a Project Development & FundingOfficer, you will work with a wide range of client groups inmaking grant acquisitions and assisting them with complex issueswhich might include legislation, procurement, Standards,governance, and technical expertise, etc. You will be asked toassist with setting up and managing a range of Renewable EnergyCommunity Benefit Funds. Part of the role will require soundproject management skills and a need to prioritise and work underyour own initiative.

Your daily routine will include:-

  • Making Grant Applications to a widerange of Funders.
  • Assisting with the smooth governance ofthe Community Benefit Funds the Unit has been chargedwith.
  • When called upon, to project manageinitiatives that are being developed for the Third Sector andthe County Council.
  • Research and adding to the knowledgebase of the Unit by exploring new funding streams and newclients.
  • Working with partner Organisationsacross the Council and the Voluntary Sector.
  • As experience grows, to expand portfolioto assist other Directorates, Corporate policies and theCouncil's objectives and principles.

Do you have?

  • A willingness to learn
  • Experience in seeking out funding
  • A project management background
  • Experience of working with partners atstrategic, operational and community level
  • Ability to work under pressure, to beresilient and to meet priorities and deadlines
  • A knowledge of the Third Sector
  • Knowledge of the County Borough

Full training will be provided in the rolebut a Project Management qualification (Prince 2 or equivalent)would be advantageous.
