We are looking for a Project Development Coordinator to join our team.
The successful candidate will support the development team of a reputable renewable energy developer who is entering the UK market with an expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects. The appointed candidate will play a pivotal role within the development team, contributing technical expertise to facilitate site identification and suitability for onshore wind projects, feasibility analysis, and development planning.
The role involves the preparation of analyses, mapping, and technical drawings, as well as the assessment of environmental, planning, and grid-related constraints to support both internal decision-making and external submissions.
Main duties include the following (this is a non-exhaustive list):
- Site Identification and Assessment
- Undertake GIS-based analysis to identify potential sites for onshore wind development.
- Evaluate land availability, topography, wind resource data, and proximity to existing grid infrastructure.
- Conduct multi-criteria assessments incorporating environmental, planning, and technical constraints.
- Mapping and Data Management
- Prepare and maintain detailed GIS layers for project sites, including land ownership, environmental designations, grid connections, access routes, and exclusion zones.
- Create and manage spatial databases ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and version control.
- Produce high-quality maps and visualisations for internal presentations, planning submissions, and stakeholder engagement.
- CAD and Technical Drawings
- Prepare CAD layouts for wind turbine placements, access roads, substation locations, and other infrastructure components.
- Support the design and layout optimisation of project sites in accordance with planning and technical requirements.
- Planning and Environmental Support
- Assist in preparing planning application materials, including site plans, constraint maps, and supporting figures.
- Collaborate with environmental consultants to incorporate ecological, archaeological, and landscape constraints.
- Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) by providing accurate data and mapping outputs.
- Liaison and Collaboration
- Work closely with development managers, engineers, land agents and other external consultants to support all stages of project development.
- Coordinate with grid and planning specialists to identify viable connection options and planning pathways.
- Support land negotiation processes by preparing and updating land ownership and access maps.
Skills And Experience
- 3 years plus relevant experience
- Proficient use and knowledge of GIS software platforms
- Experience working on onshore wind, solar, or other renewable energy projects in the UK or Ireland.
- Experience analysing spatial constraints such as environmental designations, aviation zones, radar, noise, grid access, and topography.
- Strong data management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce professional-quality visual materials.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
