Job Description:

Recruitment Hunters are recruiting for a Programme Leader for Undergraduate BA Design - Interior Design / Visual Design & Digital Art Direction Programmes (This area for 100 Students) to work for an international higher education client in Central London.

This creative role requires a unique individual to manage the Design area of the university, teach design degree courses, and handle academic responsibilities for BA & MA programs. The role is on a fixed-term contract for 9 months, starting late September or early October 2025.

The Design Programme Leader will oversee a range of courses, support establishing a strong design identity aligned with the local market, and ensure that the programs equip students with necessary skills for a successful career. The role includes developing high-quality programs and advising on new courses to enhance the program's success.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective delivery of the program;
• Teach design courses alongside managerial duties;
• Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including accreditation processes;
• Uphold policies on transparency and student voice;
• Implement curriculum changes and support attendance and retention policies;
• Promote activities like industry visits, exhibitions, and international events;
• Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment;
• Gather and utilize student feedback for continuous improvement.

Curriculum Development:

• Design and plan curriculum and assessment methods;
• Align curriculum with institutional standards and quality enhancement;
• Support recruitment of lecturers and ensure delivery of learning outcomes;
• Develop learning materials and participate in teaching;
• Integrate digital strategies, sustainability, and innovation into the curriculum;
• Encourage international perspectives and global collaborations.

Course Management & Quality Assurance:

• Organize meetings and record keeping;
• Implement quality assurance procedures;
• Liaise with external examiners;
• Participate in program and institutional meetings;
• Provide feedback on staff and student performance.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Master's Degree in a relevant design field;
• At least 7 years of experience in UK higher education in an academic managerial role;
• Knowledge of the design industry;
• Excellent English communication skills;
• Leadership and program development skills.

The position is a fixed-term contract for 9 months near Liverpool Street station, with a salary of £55,000 plus benefits. The salary is pro-rata for the contract duration.
