Role – Financial and Commercial Manager
Location – UK (London, Leeds)
The Financial and Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role within a large, established IT programme, ensuring that all financial and commercial operations are executed to the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and effectiveness. This position is accountable for overseeing cost-plus project level accounting, managing complex budgets, supporting the commercial strategy, and ensuring robust compliance and reporting across all financial activities associated with the programme.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of cost-plus accounting models within large-scale UK central government IT environments and possess proven expertise in commercial contract management, financial planning, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting directly to the Client Partner and working in close collaboration with cross-functional leadership teams, the Financial and Commercial Manager will be a trusted advisor, a strategic thinker, and an effective operator, ensuring that the programme delivers optimal value for Infosys and the Client.
Oversee the end-to-end cost-plus accounting processes, ensuring all allowable costs are captured, allocated, and reported in accordance with Infosys policy and contractual requirements.
Manage direct, indirect, and overhead cost allocation methodologies to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Develop and refine processes for cost tracking, reporting, and reconciliation, identifying and addressing anomalies and inefficiencies.
Prepare, review, and present regular cost reports and variance analyses to internal and external stakeholders.
Support the audit process by providing detailed cost records, justifications, and reconciliations on demand.
Lead or oversee the commercial management of supplier and client contracts, including negotiation, performance management, and compliance monitoring.
Draft, review, and negotiate client and supplier contract amendments, ensuring robust risk management and value delivery for all parties.
Monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for client and subcontractor contracts, escalating issues and managing disputes proactively.
Ensure all contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables are met by both internal teams and external partners.
Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the client and reports for the programme, including analysis of key cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulatory frameworks, contractual requirements, and internal policies.
Facilitate and support external and internal audits; coordinate responses to queries and implement audit recommendations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in cost-plus accounting regulations and standards and ensure continuous process improvement.
Act as a strategic partner and subject matter expert to Infosys Finance, programme leadership, project managers, procurement, and delivery teams.
Provide financial guidance and commercial insights to enable effective decision-making and risk management.
Communicate complex financial and contractual information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Build and maintain effective relationships with the Client, suppliers, auditors, and Infosys Finance.
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and commercial risks across the programme lifecycle.
Lead root cause analysis for cost overruns or commercial disputes, implementing remedial actions as required.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives in financial controls, reporting accuracy, and commercial processes.
Reports directly to the Client Partner.
Works closely with IT Programme Leadership, Project Managers, Procurement, and Delivery Teams.
Liaises with clients, suppliers, auditors, and relevant external regulatory authorities.
