Job summary

A manufacturing company based in Bamber Bridge is seeking Production Operatives for temporary to permanent positions. Responsibilities include working on raw materials, operating equipment, monitoring production rates, and ensuring product quality. Responsibilities

  • Prepare raw materials and packaging as per instructions.

  • Ensure products meet specifications through initial testing and release.
  • Check labels and packaging for accuracy.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the production area.

Skills

Chemical manufacturing experience
Knowledge of common software programs (MS office)

Education

Job description

Manpower are currently recruiting for Production Operatives to work on a temporary to permanent basis on behalf of a local adhesives manufacturing client based in the Walton-Summit area of Preston.

Shift Pattern Working 4 days on, 2 days off. (Initially training Monday to Friday day time only) Rotating 06.00am until
14.00pm and
14.00pm until
22.00pm Please note this shift pattern does contain weekend working Starting salary of £28,554 PLUS an impressive shift allowance of £4,193.90 initially then rising to ££7,138.50 on completion of a successful probation period PRIMARY DUTIES Generally, performs, with supervision, entry level production tasks which include: Preparation of raw materials and packaging: identifying & preparing the right quantities and transport them to the appropriate production area, reporting any deviation from normal, note start and finish of process.

Operating Batch processing equipment in line with process instructions and procedures for bonding agent manufacture.

Monitor's equipment, keeping processes running at desired run rates.

Weekend shift, primary responsibility to operate polymer reaction equipment in line with process instructions and procedures.

Complete the initial testing and release of products to ensure that there are no deviations to specifications.

Check labels & packaging material, ensure correct labeling following the existing rules and instructions.

Packaging the final products in accordance with instructions and company quality standards.

Carry out all operations in compliance with the expected Quality Standards and Operating procedures of the company and respecting all legal and company EHS-rules.

Responsible for housekeeping in area of responsibility.

Carry out any other duties requested from the Production Manager/Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Chemical manufacturing experience required.

Knowledge of common software programs (MS office). Ability to read and understand work orders, production process, safety regulations and quality procedures and instructions.

Availability to work shifts which includes weekend work.

QUALIFICATIONS Experience in chemical industrial environment Understanding of basic English PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT Required to stand for long periods of time.

Walk and climb stairs.

Use hands to remove or lift boxes, bags and drums.

Stretch and reach with arms extended.

Stoop and bend.

Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Temperature, dust, smell and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions.
