We are GROWING and are recruiting for the role of a Production Operative to join the team at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK)

FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION

ROTATING SHIFT OR DAYS ONLY

Burnaston Plant

£32,103 per annum

TMUK, based in Burnaston, Derby, is seeking Production Operatives to help build the Toyota Corolla as they prepare for the launch of the Toyota GR Corolla in 2026, following increased global demand. The GR Corolla is a high-performance, rally-inspired hatchback and is an exciting addition to the projects currently being managed within the plant.

Areas and Roles

You'll work in one of TMUK's key production areas Body Shop, Paint Shop, Plastics, Assembly, Quality Inspection, Logistics or in the Burnaston Refurbishment & Customisation Centre (BRC - This is Days Only).

Responsibilities

• Directly involved in manufacturing of parts/vehicles
• Responsible for confirming quality, and inspection
• Relied on to take ownership for improving the condition of your process.
• Expected to raise and implement improvement ideas.

Hours of Work

• 39 hours per week, working a two-shift pattern, rotating weekly:
• Earlies: 06:00 to 14:18
• Lates: 15:20 to 23:38
• Day Shift only: 07:00 - 15:33
• You will need to attend a 15-minute briefing prior to the start of your shift.
• Overtime can be called up to 45 minutes on the early shift and up to 2 hours on late shift. Please note there can be occasional weekend overtime

Pay Rates

• £15.83 per hour including average shift premium. £32,103 per annum
• £13.59 per hour Base rate
• +£1.13 per hour Shift allowance mornings
• +£3.36 per hour Shift allowance Lates
• Overtime is paid at a premium: Time and a half for the first two hours and time and a half there after.

Who You Are

• The ability to follow standardised work and build the same way and to the same quality every time
• Good hand dexterity coupled with physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks
• Prior experience of a labour-intensive role, where being on your feet all day is normal
• The ability to maintain concentration and focus on highly repetitive tasks
• Willingness to learn and adapt across a range of processes and machinery
• Good attention to detail
• Excellent levels of attendance & timekeeping
• To be committed to carrying out production overtime which may involve weekends
• Enthusiasm and commitment to contribute to the business
• Experience working as a production operative, warehouse operative or conducting standardised work (manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential)

Training and Safety

You will receive one-week s fundamental skills training in the dojo from Toyota experienced trainers to ensure you have the skills to work in a safe manner to meet the daily requirements and then will be supported over a number of weeks to ramp up on process in the production line/work area.
