Overview

Production Manager — West Midlands

GBP40,000 - GBP50,000 per annum + yearly profit-based bonus

The Company

Our client is a family owned FMCG business now in its 3rd generation of ownership. Processing 180,000 litres per week, they have doubled their throughput in the last 5 years. With an overall headcount of 50 people and investments being made in their production line, they re set to double their capacity by 2026.

The owners are currently investing heavily back into the business with the goal of making improvements covering every area of the business, from their equipment through to their values. The business is invested in supporting the development of their staff, offering training and development opportunities for anyone wanting to progress.

The Role

The role of Production Manager will involve overseeing two lines operating on 6-2 and 2-10 shifts, with a total headcount of 20+. This role will take full responsibility for the success of the production team, working collaboratively with engineering, technical, and stock control teams to ensure production targets are met. The Production Manager will:

  • Mentor a team of 4 team leaders, assessing their skills gaps and developing them to ensure a robust succession plan
  • Overseeing daily production, utilising route cause analysis to implement proactive steps for issue resolution
  • Working cross-departmentally with engineering, lab, technical, stock control, and processing teams, striving to ensure efficient and effective communications
  • Implement processes and SOPs for production, understanding how the business operates and looking to improve on areas such as downtime
