About the Company

Our client is a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in high-quality welding and fabrication services. With a strong reputation for delivering precision-engineered solutions, they are now seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead operations and support the next phase of growth.

Role Overview

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day production across the welding and fabrication workshop, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage and motivate a multi‑skilled team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and coordinate production activities across welding and fabrication operations
  • Plan workloads, allocate resources, and ensure efficient workflow throughout the workshop
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, productivity, and safety
  • Work closely with design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Monitor production KPIs, report performance, and implement corrective actions where required
  • Oversee training, development, and performance management of production staff
Skills and Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar leadership role within welding, fabrication, or metalwork environments
  • Strong understanding of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and workshop operations
  • Excellent people‑management skills with the ability to lead by example
  • Confident in production planning, scheduling, and resource management
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing or engineering environment
