Production Engineer

Our client, an established engineering manufacturer, is seeking a skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join their growing team in Worthing. This role involves hands‑on assembly, testing, and quality assurance of engineered products, working closely with technical documentation and customer specifications. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high‑quality products and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

Key Duties
  • Interpret and fully understand project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and scope of supply.
  • Build components and assemblies to defined dimensions and tolerances, following all approved procedures.
  • Conduct product testing in line with customer‑approved testing procedures, often in the presence of customers or third‑party inspectors.
  • Perform paint preparation and painting in accordance with customer and internal procedures.
  • Accurately record all productive and non‑productive time to support correct cost allocation.
  • Ensure all work complies with the company's Quality Management System and relevant industry and HSE standards.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of your own work and contribute actively to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out in‑house maintenance and repair work, including strip‑down and assessment of customer equipment and production of detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and other departments to resolve assembly or production issues.
  • Complete all tasks efficiently, accurately, and within defined time and cost parameters.
Critical Skills & Competencies
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of engineered products and services.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, especially in team or group environments.
  • Clear and accurate written communication, with good grammar and attention to detail.
  • Strong decision‑making skills and commercial awareness.Reliable, dependable, and committed to high standards.
